A Legacy Project is a meaningful creation that allows a person to reflect on their life, and capture their unique story, wisdom, values, and love to be able to share with future generations. It is done near end of life, and it serves as a powerful way to reflect, use creativity, express deep thoughts or appreciations while leaving a tangible, comforting gift for loved ones. It is something that can also bring families and friends together during what can be a difficult time, to work on a Legacy Project all together with the person passing.
Memory Books: Photo albums, scrap books, written stories of found times
Audio or Video Recordings: Recorded stories, wishes, gratitude's
Letters to loved ones, or for Future Milestones: A series of sealed letters written for loved ones. Maybe about a fond memory, poem, or a letter of love. Another options is for the individual passing to leave letters to be opened for future events, such as a graduation's, wedding's, anniversary's etc.
Quilts or other textiles: Perhaps a collection of different clothing sewn together to make a blanket, a quilt that tells a story, stuffed animals made with memorable fabrics.
